Terms of Service

These terms are the agreement between you and Grimscribe (“we”, “us”), the operator of the solo role-playing game at grimscribe.win. By signing in or playing, you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the service.

1. Who may use Grimscribe

You must be at least 16 years old. If the law where you live sets a higher age for consenting to online services, that higher age applies. You are responsible for everything that happens under your account, so keep your sign-in secure. One account per person; do not share it.

2. What the service is

Grimscribe is a solo, D&D-style role-playing game. A deterministic rules engine rolls the dice and tracks your character; a third-party AI model narrates the world around those results. The game is dark fantasy: it contains combat, injury, fictional violence, monsters, and permanent character death. That is the design, not a malfunction.

We may change, add or remove features at any time, including limits, models and prices. We will not silently reduce something you have already paid for within a billing period.

3. AI-generated content

Narration and images are produced by an AI model in response to your input. Such output can be wrong, inconsistent, repetitive, or unintentionally similar to text or art the model has seen. It is fiction for entertainment only, and it is never advice - medical, legal, financial or otherwise. We do not guarantee that any particular scene, image or story outcome is original, accurate or reproducible.

4. Your content and acceptable use

You keep ownership of the characters, premises and messages you write, and of the campaign that grows from them. You grant us only the licence needed to run the service: to store your content, transmit the relevant parts to our AI provider to generate the next turn, and display it back to you. We do not use your campaigns to train models and we do not publish them.

You must not use Grimscribe to:

• create or solicit sexual content involving minors, or any other content that is illegal where you or we operate;
• generate real-world instructions for violence, weapons, or harm to actual people, or content harassing, defaming or impersonating a real person;
• attempt to bypass plan limits, credit accounting, rate limits or authentication, or to resell, scrape or automate access to the service;
• probe, overload or disrupt the infrastructure, or the AI provider behind it.

We may suspend or terminate an account that breaks these rules, or that abuses the service in a way that threatens its cost or availability for everyone else. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will warn you first.

5. Plans, limits and credits

The free plan includes 25 Dungeon Master turns and 2 generated images per day (resetting at midnight UTC) and a lifetime maximum of 3 campaigns. The Hero subscription adds the premium model, automatic scene images, 150⚡ of monthly credits and a lifetime maximum of 50 campaigns, subject to a fair-use daily cap on standard-model turns. Credits (⚡) pay for premium turns and generated images. Monthly credits are part of an active subscription and do not roll over; purchased top-up credits remain until spent. When credits run out, the game continues on the standard model rather than blocking you. Credits have no cash value and cannot be transferred or exchanged for money.

These limits exist because every turn costs us real money, and they may change as costs change. Changes take effect from your next billing period.

6. Billing

Grimscribe is operated under our studio brand Frappua, and billing runs in that name: subscriptions and credit packs are sold through Stripe, with Link as the merchant of record. Your card statement will show LINK.COM* FRAPPUA rather than “Grimscribe”.

Stripe takes the payment, calculates and remits applicable taxes, and issues the receipt. The price and taxes shown at checkout are authoritative.

The Hero subscription renews automatically each month until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from the Stripe customer portal, reachable from the game’s Settings; access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for, and no partial refunds are issued for unused days. Refunds, chargebacks and payment disputes follow Stripe’s Managed Payments policy; where the law grants you a statutory right of withdrawal, that right applies. Failed payments end Hero access and return the account to the free plan.

7. Availability and “as is”

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not promise uninterrupted availability, and we depend on third parties (AI provider, hosting, payments) whose outages will affect us. Keep in mind that campaign data can be lost through deletion, defect or provider failure.

8. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for lost data, lost campaigns or lost profits. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to it. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, and consumer rights you have under mandatory local law are unaffected.

9. Termination

You may stop at any time and delete your account from Settings, which permanently removes your campaigns and data. We may suspend or close an account for breach of these terms, for abuse, or if we discontinue the service; if we discontinue it, we will give reasonable notice and cancel any active subscriptions.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms; the date at the top will change, and significant changes will be announced in the app. Continuing to play after an update means you accept the new terms.
